C. 1860’s brown and salmon striped brocade with finely crochet covered decorative buttons, and a tasseled trim. Metals interior stays and brass hook closures up the front. The hem is a 5 pointed design, mean to rest on top of a bustle and wide skirt, as was the fashion in the mid-1800’s.
Sadly this was not accompanied with provenance.
Condition: great condition for its age, but there is damage to the lining and armpits. There are some scattered pinholes and moth bits, mostly concentrated on the back. A few hooks are missing in the front. Still structurally sound and wearable with care.
Measurements: shown on 5’5” model, usually size s, 32” bust, 27” waist
