Extremely rare red calico 2-piece 1880s dress with brass sequins, off-white trim, and burlap lining. This amazing jacket would have most likely been paired over a blouse and vest. The jacket has decorative button holes, but no evidence of buttons on the other side. Jacket like these were usually worn open and have hooks to attach them to the vest or blouse beneath. The construction of the skirt and jacket leave room for a bustle, which were very popular during this era. This outfit appears to be mainly hand-sewn, making it all the more special!

Condition: excellent condition with no major damage, but there are missing and loose sequins, and some faint marks in the skirt.
