XS-M 1940's Black Velvet Coat
$155.00
1930's/1940's rayon velvet satin lined coat with a button closure at the neckline and a decorative tie style collar. The sleeves are ruched on the underside for a slight puffed or balloon look, which was very popular in the 30's!
A little history: This coat is unbranded, but the name "Blanche Keedick" is written on the lining of the left sleeve. It is a relatively unpopular name, so I believe I traced it back to a woman in Idaho, Blanche Keedick Verheyen who lived from 1918-2003. I love finding history like this, it makes these antique treasures all the more precious!
Excellent condition with some minor yellowing in the lining.
Bust up to about 44" when closed
15" shoulders seam to seam
20" arm opening at the shoulder
33" shoulder to hem
