Vintage Icelandic Wool Sweater

$136.00
Vintage Icelandic pure wool sweater dating from about the 198p’s/90’s. The sweater is knit in a Nordic pattern with soft blue, teal, off-white, and charcoal gray. The brand is “Icesheep” by TH M Hafnarf Jordur, pure new wool. This sweater is very fuzzy and I recommend to wear with an undershirt. Hafnarfjörður is a port town in Iceland, close to the country’s capitol, and has many industries including the production and transport of wool. Icelandic wool is unique because it has two types of hair: a coarse, long outer layer called tog and a finer, softer inner layer called þel. This natural barrier of wool helps protect sheep from wet and cold weather.

Excellent vintage condition with no damage to note.

Measurements (unisex):
Bust/chest up to about 40” with stretch
Waist 30”-38”
22” shoulder seam to seam
19” arm opening at the shoulder
20.5” sleeve inseam
27” shoulder to hem
