M/L-Late 1910’s to early 20’s silk and lace dress with beaded trim
$198.00
Incredibly beautiful and intricate late 1910’s to early 1920’s dress featuring the most spectacular handmade lace I think I’ve ever seen. I’m not 100% sure if it’s handmade, but it does appear to be a Torchon or bobbin lace and has sheer fabric inlays on some of the flowers. The dress snaps and hooks up the front and has interior belt stays that hook at the waist. The front of the dress also features two panels of what I believe is cotton velvet, and the sash is made of matching material. The dress also features sparkly black glass buttons at each shoulder, on the sash, and 2 at the front closure of the bodice.
Condition: the dress is overall in good condition for its age and is sturdy enough for careful wear. 1 button at each shoulder has broken in half. The lace is very fragile, so there are scattered tears, most notably in the skirt (shown in photos). Luckily they are not noticeable when worn. The interior lining is in fragile condition and has been reworked at some point. The tulle “modesty panel” was rebuilt by me to replace the original, which was completely tattered. The tulle I’ve used is period appropriate cotton. The sash was also in tattered condition, but I reinforced it with tulle and repaired the damage.
Shown on 5’5” model, 34” bust, 27” waist
Measurements:
Up to 38-42” bust (meant to be a bit oversized, so could accommodate slightly larger or smaller)
Up to 33” waist
Up to 48/50” at the hips
54.5” shoulder to hem (taken lying flat)
