30-32” waist— c.1919 Green Tissue Silk Dress with Beadwork Trim
$120.00
A beautiful vibrant green tissue silk dress with pink and green Czech bead trim. This dress is a beautiful example of the transition from the late 1910’s to early 1920’s fashion, and most likely dates from 1918 or 1919. I have a dress in my personal collection with provenance from 1919 and the style and construction is very similar. This dress has slightly draped 3/4 length sleeves with bands of Czech beads around the bicep and cuff. The neckline and front of the bodice are decorated with rows of beads as well, and features snap closures up the left side. The dress has hook closures at the waist has a short un-fastened opening below.
Condition: this dress is being sold as-is, but is in spectacular condition considering its age and the very fine material, however there are some scattered holes in the skirt, and some pinholes in the bodice. Luckily there don’t appear to be any missing beads. There is a band around the circumference of the skirt about midway down where the fabric has separated a bit as if something was removed. Wearable as-is with caution.
Measurements:
Bust up to about 36”
Waist best for 28”-31”
Hips best for up to 40”, but can accommodate a few extra inches
14” are opening at the shoulder, 12” at cuff
14.5” shoulder to waist
50” shoulder to hem
Shown on 5’5” model, 35 bust, 28 waist, 40 hips
